Training a puppy requires a lot of time, patience, and consistency. The “basics” are never as simple or basic as many people believe – and, they are the pivotal developmental building blocks dogs rely upon when under stress or in a high state of drive. As with all things, the stronger the foundation, the stronger the final structure. Ridgeside K9 Nashville offers two different programs to help your puppy build the strongest foundation possible, setting them on the path for training and behavioral success!
There’s nothing more heart melting than an adorable bundle of fur and floppy limbs snuggled up into your lap. Yet not even the sweetest puff of puppy breath is enough to overcome the frustration we experience as the newest pack member destroys shoes and furniture, nips at hands and legs, sings the song of his people – incessantly – at 2:00 in the morning or decides the living room rug makes a much better bathroom than the yard outside.
Let our experienced trainers help! Our puppy programs are designed to help your fur babies find their way in their new homes, laying the groundwork for their new form of communication – one which allows them to understand what behaviors are expected of them, and which won’t be allowed.
We understand that being away from your puppy, especially at a young age, can be challenging. Your trainer will maintain daily communication with you, providing videos, photos, and written updates on your dog's progress, as well as outlining the training plan for the following day. At the conclusion of your pup’s program, there will be a three- hour in-person turnover session during which your trainer will demonstrate your dog's accomplishments and teach you how to continue building on their progress, deepening your bond and shaping your pup into the perfect pack member.
Puppy Foundation
This 10 Day Board and Train program is the very beginning of your puppy’s learning journey. Designed for young pups between 10 Weeks and 4 Months of age, they will learn potty training, crate training, the beginning of marker training, and be introduced to a pinch collar. This program is ideal for those who do not have time during the day to take their dogs out every few hours to potty and want help correcting typical puppy behaviors such as chewing and play biting.

Puppy All-Inclusive
Do you want to give your new companion the very best chance at training success, but are unsure where to start? Our All Inclusive Puppy Program has the answer! Beginning with our 10 Day Puppy Foundational training described above, your pup then returns to your trainer at 5 months of age for an additional 2 week board and train session. During this second visit, your dog will finish learning all of the critical components necessary for behavioral success, such as impulse control (no more counter surfing, or jumping on people to say hello!), reliable off leash recall, door manners, loose leash heeling, and perfecting commands such as sit, down, stay and leave it.
This package also comes with our Lifetime Support guarantee – as your pup continues to grow, if they ever forget part of their training or start to exhibit new, unwanted behaviors, we would be there to help you train through it, completely free of charge. This guarantee covers you for their entire lives; as long as your dog is part of your pack, we are there to ensure you are both happy and successful!
